Overview
This project was done in the course of Visual Communication Design. Through analyzing and experimenting with a set of images, a p5.js interactive artwork was made with the insights gained from previous steps.
Dimension Travel Machine is my final work of the course Visual Communication Design, where I chose the image from A Trip to the Moon as my experimental target. In the former step of experiment, I analyzed visual perception of four images and investigated the performance of visual communication in different dimensions of non-reality and found that this image had a unique dimensionality blur due to its special subject matter and era.
Therefore, in my final work, I created a Dimension Travel Machine using p5.js. After selecting the criteria of subject matter (What), time (when), and empathy distance (Where), the audience will be taken to a non-realistic world with stronger dimensional characteristics compared to the chaotic original image. I want to let the audience experience the richness of non-realistic visual expression through the work.
